Key features of our bespoke sauna installation
There are some key differences between custom built, hand-made home saunas and their commercial counterpart. For example, domestic saunas may need to be child safe or be required to fit into a bathroom or similar small space.
Also, the control panel in a home sauna installation will be made more accessible. These can be situated on the heater or as a control panel outside the sauna. Additionally, a bespoke sauna installation may require a heater cover or a safer type of sauna heater. Examples of safer heaters include the Tylo Compact and Tylo Sense Pure which both have a Thermosafe coating.
Having a commercial sauna custom built is generally a slightly different process than for domestic use. Firstly, with all commercial designs safety is a key factor, followed by accessibility, durability and size. For example, it will be important to restrict access to your sauna control panel or to protect customers from accidental burning.

You may also want to consider the type of sauna wood panelling you use. Cost can be a major factor in larger saunas along with durability. As a result, more expensive woods may not be the best long term choice for commercial saunas.

As well as wood, you may want to consider the front of the sauna design for both aesthetics and functionality. Sometimes you just want the sauna to be simple, contemporary and light. Choosing frameless sauna glass that is custom cut for the door, front or corner will also allow you to flood the sauna room with natural light.
Typical glass types include clear, bronzed, smoked or frosted. All the sauna glass we supply is tempered safety glass that is cut to order. Leisurequip can also supply a range of pre-fabricated frameless glass sauna doors and panels which we can work into the final design.
Each individual commercial sauna or tailor-made home sauna deserves a heater that will deliver the best wellness experience possible. Our extensive range of designer sauna heaters is unmatched in both variety and quality. Leisurequip have sauna heaters that can operate anything from a 1 person home sauna right up to industrial sauna heaters for 20 person commercial saunas and above.
Additionally, we also supply and install pre-programmable heaters with Thermosafe coatings. What’s more, some heaters can deliver aromatherapy oils or mineral salts, can be operated remotely and can automatically dry your sauna when you’re done.
Every hand built sauna deserves the best lighting. As standard we install lighting which will be perfectly suitable and more than adequate. Alternatively, if you’re looking to create a certain ambience or mood we offer a range of enhanced lighting solutions.
Choose from down lighting, recessed lighting, fibre-optics, bench backlighting, chromatography lights that change colour, floor lighting and much more. We also offer a range of lighting accessories for benches and corners.
